Explore Trumbull
Project Synopsis
The town of Trumbull, CT features beautiful parks, hiking, and an outdoor lifestyle. However, learning about these features is not an easy task if someone is using the town’s website. Users tend to shy away from using the town’s website because the information is overwhelming.
After researching users and their most common scenarios, I designed a new app, Explore Trumbull, that will allow residents to easily navigate to all of the town’s resources.
Process
The current town of Trumbull website was audited and town residents were interviewed to find the most common uses for the website. User scenarios and flow charts were created to help build new navigation.
Paper prototypes were developed and placed into a digital tool that allowed users to interact with and test the prototype. Users were given a series of tasks to perform, such as paying their taxes or enrolling their child in summer camp.
Based on the findings from low-fidelity testing, new medium-fidelity prototypes were created. A video walkthrough was created to showcase how the new, Explore Trumbull, app would function. Additional loading and navigation animation was later created.
